Guides for Vietnam visa Tet holiday 2017

On Vietnamese Tet Holiday 2017 the Vietnam Immigration Department has 7 days off (from 26 January 2017 until the end of 1 February 2017). During these days, all the visa approval process will be stopped except the emergency overtime visa service.

Vietnamese entry visa is required for most foreigners. It allows the visa holders to enter and exit Vietnam at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc airports. If the travelers are going to travel Vietnam in January, they are highly recommended to apply for a visa early to skip missing their visa application during Vietnamese traditional Tet Holiday. There is no point in worrying about its validity as it is the Vietnam Immigration Department, not any travel agents that is able to approve your Vietnam visa on arrival. Accordingly, you will not receive full visa before departure to Vietnam, but the visa approval letter that will allow you to get full visa later at the arrival airport in Vietnam.

In case you are going to fly into Vietnam first and travel Laos or Cambodia then come back to Vietnam for flight home, remember to use multiple entry visa. Otherwise, you will have to apply for a new one when come back to Vietnam on the way home.

5. Don’t forget visa stamping fee

Please remember to bring some cash (25 USD for single entry visa or 50 USD for multiple entry visa) to pay for the stamping fee at the arrival airport in Vietnam.
